I bought what was described as a rechargeable reading lamp. It does not provide any more light than a tealight candle and is useless. It also doesn't hold charge for longer than 30 minutes. They claim to have a 60 day money back guarantee which is not true. When i explained the problem and asked for a refund i received a lengthy email explaining that unfortunately because i was based in the UK and apparently most of their business is in the US i would have to send it back there and it would be expensive and it would be best to get it tracked incase it went missing. Also that it would take 2-3 weeks to process. I bought the product from a .UK website and this is not explained anywhere in their website. It simply says you need to contact them to initiate the return, When i did delve deep into the site i found they were registered in the United Arab Emirates so unclear as to where the parcels come from. I was given a long explanation about how the woman i was dealing with had just spoken to her manager and how it would probably work out better for me if they gave me store credit (to buy more useless overpriced rubbish). For context they only sell about 26 different style of lamps and all but 2 are rechargeable. I am absolutely kicking myself that i didn’t do more research before i bought the lamp, for £30 ( supposed to be £60!)when the exact same thing is on Temu and the like for £5 🥹 I knew it was rubbish as soon as i opened the box. It was a cheap box like you find in poundstores and it had made in china on the front and is just absolute rubbish. How they can honestly market it as a reading lamp is disgusting. I have since noticed the same ones on the tables in restaurants in place of candles because they are just for show. The site only has 2 plug in lamps and all the others are usb chargeable aka- cheap. So i was either offered more of what i wanted to send back or 30% refund and keep the lamp i had no use for. I said no and asked for a return address when miraculously i was offered a 70% refund or more store credit. I just wanted to return the item without it being expensive and take weeks to get my money back. I have since looked up the site and they only have one review on the site which mentions the 60 day guarantee which is what i saw and makes me think i will get all my money back when the product they sell isn’t fit for purpose. Instead you will get a lengthy response where Anna mentions on more than one occasion how “your happiness is their goal”! Seriously stop selling people dollar store crap claiming it’s usually on sale at £59.95 and claiming you have a 60 day guarantee. A guarantee of what? Gaslighting your customers by claiming you care about their happiness and you just want to find them the best solution when you obviously go through this everytime someone asks for a refund. The really long email about how she had just spoken to her boss and thought they might be able to give me options was clearly copy and pasted. I am just angry that i still paid £9 for a piece of junk barely useful for the charity shop. I just want to stop them ripping other people off.
