My Lumiere experience has genuinely been one of the most transformative academic experiences I’ve had! What made it so special was definitely the mentorship behind the research. Working so closely with a mentor who took my ideas seriously, challenged my thinking, and held me to a high intellectual standard completely changed the way I approach research. I learned how to structure rigorous arguments and refine my writing in ways I had never done before.
Lumiere gave me confidence. Having a mentor who believed in me, pushed me, and created a space where I felt comfortable thinking out loud and asking difficult questions made me grow not only as a student, but as a person. I looked forward to every meeting, and by the end, I felt not only proud of the paper we produced, but proud of how much I had developed. It made me more certain that research is something I want to pursue at the highest level.
