Ok so I read reviews here and was exploring different directions, but I found that full retail price is a HUGE difference, and so this was worth taking a chance. I also discovered on Ebay that the reviews there were MUCH more positive, and they have a very high seller rating there, so I felt even better about the gamble.Bottom line is I just received the Aeron chair I purchased and am as happy as could be. I know from research that these chairs are either barely used or refurbished, but in either case they are cleaned-up nicely and if refurbished the replacement parts are pretty quality. For my part, this is a great deal on such an awesome product (Herman Miller Aeron), and am thankful to have this option as the full-price option would be a much bigger investment - and while that investment is worth it, and something I could afford if I want to, this was an excellent deal.I should add that I purchased through a similar route about 12 years ago, and that's how long my previous chair lasted (the seat pad finally got wore down). I could have repaired my old chair but the price difference was less than $200 so I figured I will get a much newer chair/parts for that dollar amount. I'm very happy about my decision.One last thing - keep in mind that returns are difficult for any business to handle, as are many people. There are people who are downright dishonest cheats, and others who are simply miserable and like to make things difficult. I'm not saying that absolves Madison for any/all issues with their return process, but I think there is some perspective to be had. If you're paying 5 to 6 hundred bucks on a chair that retails for over 3 times as much, and you expect it to last a lifetime or to go back to Madison years later and have them pay for expensive shipping and provide a whole new chair, I just don't think that's very realistic. HM can afford to provide this kind of coverage because of the retail price, but for Madison they are more relying on the chair's amazing quality and that most people will be happy with a lifespan of 10 years or more. That's just my take.
