We had a terrific experience planning a trip with Annie and the Magnetic North team to Iceland, Sweden and Norway. I had a million questions, which Annie patiently worked through, and crafted an itinerary that worked really well for our family of four (including two active teenage boys). The biggest challenge for me with travel is often figuring out where to splurge and where to save. It’s easy enough to plan something on your own when you are either trying to get the cheapest deal or money is no object. What I find far harder is deciding what experiences or hotels are worth spending more on vs. saving. This trip ticked all the boxes- for example, arranged private hotel transfers and private guides for hiking, but no need for a private guide to see a city like Upsala- just took the train from Stockholm and wandered a bit. The Swedish biking along the archipelago was absolutely great- and organized through a local touring company. Even though the weather didn’t perfectly cooperate (with rain on many of the days)- we still had a great time and really got a flavor of the countryside.The Magnetic North app is brilliant. Easy to see what is on plan each day, with all tickets etc attached.Every transfer etc went very well- never had an issue finding our driver or guide at the airport or hotel and the hotels were always well situated and lovely. The only issue we had on the entire trip- the room in Oslo didn’t have sufficiently sized beds for our teenagers- was handled immediately and effortlessly through a What’s App message. Even though it was late evening, Annie handled it immediately, and found another additional room that made everything work. That issue alone made using this travel company worth it. I don’t want to spend my vacation time arguing with a hotel clerk regarding a room. We simply had a drink at the bar, and it was resolved within 30 minutes.I have already recommended MN to a number of friends, and would absolutely use them for a future trip.
