Review Time
Reading and listening materials and tests are OK, but most of the writing and talking are "self-rated". I didn't manage to get more than one human review from them, even after I tried to talk to their customer service, offering to pay whatever is needed to get a human eye on my mockup test. Different people in support told me different things, and eventually just closed the request without answering my last email. For the IELTS exam, just go with IELTS Premium (guided Elearning), promoted by the British Council. It's accessible from your account after you register for IELTS.
I studied for the TOEFL by taking four of your mock tests. I love your content and tips for tackling the TOEFL. However, there are a few things I’d like to highlight:First, the question numbers are written at the top right corner of the screen as 1‑20, with no mention of Task 1 or Task 2.Second, the timer is displayed at the top left corner, below the NEXT / REVIEW / BACK options. Also, the font size of the timer is relatively small compared to what you use, making it difficult to notice during the exam among so many other elements. Moreover, there is an option to hide the timer during the exam.In the last reading question (the “summarize the passage” task), the page shows only the questions, with a tab at the top reading VIEW PASSAGE (unlike your tests, where the paragraph is visible — albeit only for this summary question).During the listening section, the questions are spoken first, and then the same questions appear onscreen with the answer options. The speaking‑section timing provided by your tests is misleading: you don’t actually get 3 minutes for Task 1 and 7 minutes for each of the other three tasks. The timing is exactly as specified in the TOEFL guide. Finally, in the writing section, Task 1 does not actually grant you 30 minutes — rather, you get perhaps 3 minutes to read the passage and only a couple of minutes for the lecture.I feel these discrepancies should be addressed in all your mock tests so that students can be fully prepared for the actual exam conditions.
I had nothing to do in the last month apart of studying to the exam that I already registered for , so I asked Ai (DeepSeek)and highly promoted Magoosh.Magoosh platform did cover everything I needed to know and in fact several speaking questions I answered in Magoosh, presented the same way in the real IELTS exam. The funny thing is that the first time I finished all their questions in reading and listening (75 Q /day ), I had the same score after my first IELTS trial about four years ago between 5.5_6 But after that , I started listening to their lessons in every part of the exam especially the reading part and that changed everything. My score reached 7,5 the second time. The writing lessons are just amazing, how they explain the decent form of writing an essay, whether task 1 or 2 .I used to think my English is good , so I would score seven easily without any burdn from the first trial four years ago, but the reality had something else to say. There are certain techniques , that are well explained by Magoosh experts in the lessons. When I subscribed I was dreaming of scoring seven , but now after I had the exam yesterday, I am hallusinating about 8 and 8.5 , waiting for the results .
