Unfortunately the customer service is very poor. Having had issues with DPD just leaving my order on my doorstep (which is on the street so not ‘safe’) which was stolen by the time I returned home I contacted Chris at Magpye to inform him and my email was ignored and I had to send my email three times before getting a response. Chris informed me that basically ‘tough’ and to contact DPD. My contract upon ordering with Magpye is with Magpye NOT DPD and having already complained to DPD they informed me to contact Magpye. Legally under section 29 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 it is the responsibility of the trader (ie Magpye) to ensure the goods are delivered physically to the consumer. I have doorbell footage of DPD just ringing the doorbell and walking away without waiting to get a response. I had waiting in all day for my order and at 5.30pm my order status hadn’t updated from the day before which concerned me as the pies had left Newcastle 24 hours earlier and I was certain they wouldn’t have been frozen still given the warm weather. But I’ll never know now! So although the pies I have tried with my first order (which was also plagued with issues and I thought I’d give the company another go!) were nice, they are very expensive and even more so if you pay over £50 for nothing. Traders need to understand their legal responsibilities when using third parties to fulfil their orders and unfortunately this company blatantly disregards the law and doesn’t care about the customers. I’ve had to resort to doing a charge back with my bank but I shouldn’t have to do this. So the moral of the story - the pies might be nice albeit expensive but you may never receive your order and the company will not uphold their responsibilities.
