I bought a pannier from Mantel that looked great and seemed well‑made, but unfortunately the product is not usable unless you already own two extra MIK components: the MIK adapter and the MIK carrier plate.
This is not clearly mentioned on the product page, which led to a very frustrating experience.
Without the full MIK system, the pannier slides forward on the rack because it has no centre strap or stabiliser, making it unsafe to use.
When I contacted Mantel for help, the only solution they offered was to return the product.
As I’m based in Ireland, returning it means I have to pay the shipping costs myself, even though the lack of clarity in their listing caused the issue.
Very disappointing customer service and incomplete product information. I expected much better.
