Review Time
We found Rob when it became clear my daughter was really struggling with many Maths questions in her revision. I printed out hundreds of past papers and resources which she diligently worked her way through but it was clear she was not going to pass her IGCSE in November at the rate we were going. In October half term we signed up for the 7 day jump a grade boundary challenge, Tabitha worked super hard and took on board all of Rob's tips and suggestions, she went from a 3 to almost a 5 with his help. We are pleased to find out today she has passed with a strong 4 and I honestly think she would not be celebrating had we not found Rob. I do think if we'd have done so sooner she would have got a 5 so anyone wanting to nudge themselves up, from whatever level, will find his help worthwhile.
We started Mathmo with less than 6 weeks to go until the IGCSE Edexcel maths exam. At that point my son was achieving a 4 (and on a bad day not even doing that!)Those 6 weeks of calculator hacks and little nuggets from Rob made all the difference (particularly to my son's confidence) and the result was a very solid grade 6.I wish we'd known about Mathmo sooner. With more time, more webinars and more of the charismatic but simplified way that Rob explains things, I have no doubt the grade would have been at least a 7. I would recommend Mathmo without hesitation and I have already done so to many of my friends.
With Rob’s help Henry passed his GCSE maths with a grade 5! Just wanted to say thank you, as a mother of a boy, trying to help them get through GCSEs is tough and your approach seemed to really resonate with Henry. I wouldn’t even have to nag him to get up out of bed and in front of a laptop on a Sunday which was pretty rare when it came to revision! Had a 3 grade jump from a 1 to a solid 4 which would have been a 5 in 2024. I regularly joined the free online tutoring at the start of this. Then when the webinars finished moved to the free sessions online. This was over soo sooo helpful as lots of methods were taught in much simpler ways + unlocking the genius thing/hack your calculator can do. Overall a very positive experience.
Having really struggled with maths all through school we knew GCSE maths (Higher) was going to be a challenge for my son.Rob's Sunday morning webinars made an incredible difference for him. In just a short period, he jumped two GCSE maths grades and achieved a pass - something he genuinely believed he couldn't do before working with Rob.My son said he would never have passed without Rob's invaluable calculator hacks, clear explanations, supportive teaching style, and the confidence he helped him build.We are truly grateful. We had silver subscription and when we initially looked through the resources on offer - it can seem a bit overwhelming. However, each of the videos are very concise and focused and are developed in a way that aims to chunk up the syllabus. Rob himself is excellent and manages to encourage and really inject a tonne of positivity into the videos and webinars. This is no mean feat for a subject like Maths. It really gave my daughter some encouragement and confidence to believe that she could do well. As with any other maths tutoring aid, you have to engage and do the work but the way the videos and aids are conducted provides a real framework that my daughter found easy to engage with. My daughter was wondering whether she would get to a 5 and perhaps was expecting a 4 but ended up with a band 6 and a mark that was exactly mid point between a 6 and a 7 - the point being she didn't even just scrape the band 6. We both firmly believe even with another month of time and with the Rob Mathmo tools, she could have done even better. Finally, since results day, my daughter has been reminding/encouraging/nagging me that I need to provide feedback to 'Rob Mathmo'. This is a indicator of the impact Mathmo has on her ability and her confidence. I infomred her that it was just a generic request for feedback but she is insistent that i make sure to provide feedback for others who feel like the mountain of doing well in Mathematics is insurmountable. I, as a parent would say that 'Rob Mathmo' is better vale for money than a tutor but you will also have to consider how each individual child works best. If we were to have the time again - we would have had the subscription for a year and gone through every video and webinar in a more planned way. What we did actually was to have the subscription for around 4 months. Me and my daughter would definitely recommend Mathmo!!!
My daughter was at grade 3 in mock exams she didn’t do a lot of Mathmo as we were quite late signing up, only did about a month or two and that was all that was needed to get those extra marks to get her a grade 4. The calculator tips and tricks were a massive help. I would recommend to anyone who is struggling and the way that Rob teaches is really on the same level as kids I.e not boring, he makes it interesting and easy to listen to and learn.
Grades were lost at mocks and schools declined me, I was heartbroken, destroyed and in such a dismal state. Rob, the saviour of my grades, boosted not only my grades, but my mentality, confidence, and skills not just in maths, but maths related subjects. I went from a grade U to a grade 7 at maths gcse. I would like to thank Rob for all the hard work he has done and i’m grateful to him and God that I’m now able to go to grammar school. What a great teacher.
My daughter was struggling with maths at school, her year 11 mocks were grade 3 and she just couldnt get it pushed up no matter what she did at school, I signed her up for the silver tier hoping that it would help, it did, she ended up with a 5 {foundation} which is what she needed for her 6th form choice. It was a clear 5 too, 11 marks over the grade boundary. this was achieved by her determination and the twice weekly webinars she did with Rob. I would thoroughly recommend anyone who is doing foundation maths and struggling to get over a 3 in mocks.
