Sparx Maths was honestly one of the worst parts of my entire school week. The tasks took hours and felt never-ending, piling on extra stress when I already had other homework to do. The so-called video help did nothing to make things clearer — half the time it just repeated what I already didn’t understand. If you got one question wrong, you’d end up stuck redoing more work instead of actually learning where you went wrong. It made me do my pieces every single time I had to sit down and tackle it. I dreaded it every week and never once looked forward to doing Sparx tasks — they felt like mindless busywork just for the sake of ticking a box. I honestly don’t think it gave me any real advantage for my Maths GCSE either — it just ate up time I could have spent revising properly or getting actual help from a teacher. In the end, Sparx Maths feels like a complete waste of money for schools. That money could be spent on better resources, real tutoring, or anything that genuinely supports students instead of draining them. If you’re a parent, student, or teacher considering this — do yourself a favour and look for something that actually makes learning worthwhile.
