I spent over £600 on a full Maxton Design body kit for my Audi RS5 in December 2024, expecting both quality and durability based on the brand’s reputation. The kit was professionally installed by a trusted body shop, yet just months later, the driver side skirt diffuser cracked — under normal driving conditions on standard UK roads.I contacted Maxton Design with full documentation and images. I initially dealt with Sam (Customer Service Executive), who acknowledged the issue but explained that the damage was likely caused by road debris — something as vague as a “small rock” kicked up from the front wheel — and not a fault with the product itself. I was offered 10% off a replacement, but since the skirts are only sold as a pair, this still leaves me paying out of pocket for a part I believe failed prematurely.I escalated the issue to Billy Clayton (General Manager), but again was told no further support could be offered. He also advised I “ensure a body shop does not install it in the same way” — despite the fact that the kit was fitted by professionals, and no explanation was given as to what was supposedly done incorrectly. For a premium-priced product, I expected better durability and far better aftercare. The unwillingness to acknowledge any possibility of a product flaw — even in rare cases — is incredibly frustrating, especially for a brand with such a strong reputation in the aftermarket community.Sadly, I won’t be purchasing from or recommending Maxton Design again. If you’re considering buying from them, be aware that if something goes wrong, the support may be minimal and the blame passed on.
