This is an honest review from an ACTUAL customer. They had been pretty good but I took my van in for a check engine light diagnostic and was told that there were some vacuum hoses that needed repairing. I was told 1 hour for labor and $20.00 for parts so I was happy that that is all it was. The bill ended up being $203.00 because $55.00 was billed for shop supplies. I wasn't told about the shop supplies charge when I okayed the work. I was informed by someone else that that charge is unrealistic. Especially for changing a few vacuum hoses. When I left with the van, it ran good but less than 3 miles later it started to run rough again and the check engine light came back on. When I called them I was told that "we will have to go deeper with the diagnostic, we might need to change out the charcoal canister." Well supposedly the vacuum lines is all it needed but now it needs a deeper diagnostic?! It might need a charcoal canister?! I got work to do, I shouldn't have to bring my van in again. They had it for a day and a half and if they would have driven it or let it idle long enough they would have realized that it wasn't entirely what they told me it was. Now what, are they gonna charge me another $55.00 for this next visit in addition to whatever may or may not be a resolution to the problem? My gut instinct was to take it to Randy's Downtown Garage but Meineke is where my ignition interlock was installed and calibrated so it would be easier to have them also do the other work.
