I liked Merchant Gold when I contacted them. I had converted an IRA to a gold-backed a year earlier, and a friend told me Merchant fees would be less. So I went with Merchant. BIG MISTAKE. I started getting the run around every time I called, then they grossly inflated the value of my account - their paperwork mistake. I had to contact them at the end of last year to remind them they had never followed through on getting out a required minimum distribution. They rushed through paperwork on 12/24 and I just found out today from the gold company that the amount they had me remove for the minimum distribution was 3 times higher than necessary. I’m changing companies. Every time I called them it sounded like chaos. Should have been a tip=off.
