Often does not accept correct answers, and the phrasing of the questions is confusing and horrible. I am excelling at all my other classes except the one that uses McGraw Hill Connect. Genuinely one of the most user-unfriendly, unintuitive softwares I have ever had the displeasure of working with.
I gave McGraw Hill one star because the way it structures assignments is completely misleading. It says there are 45 concepts to complete, but it ends up giving you around 180 questions that all cover the same material over and over, just slightly reworded. It feels less like learning and more like punishment by repetition. If that were the goal, then why not make us write the same sentence over and over like we chewed gum in elementary school?
There’s a difference between reinforcing concepts and dragging them out unnecessarily. Instead of focusing on understanding and moving forward, you’re stuck answering the same type of question four different ways. It wastes time without adding value.
If the platform were more honest about the workload and didn’t inflate assignments with repetitive questions, it would be far more manageable. As it stands, it turns what should be straightforward practice into an exhausting grind.
Horrible pendantic slop for material. The textbooks were clearly written 20 years ago and have only been minorly updated by a half blind disabled monkey about once every two or three years to justify charging hundreds of dollars for out of date information
McGraw‑Hill curriculum is, without exaggeration, one of the poorest educational platforms I have encountered. The assignments frequently contain “gotcha” questions, including scenarios where multiple answers are technically correct but only one is accepted, or where the answer marked as correct is objectively inaccurate. This undermines both learning and assessment integrity.
The written material is unnecessarily convoluted, relying heavily on overly complex, compound sentences that obscure rather than clarify key concepts. Instead of supporting comprehension, the structure of the content actively hinders it.
The testing environment is equally problematic. Exams are prone to technical failures, including mid‑test logouts and unreliable document‑upload requirements that may or may not function correctly. These issues create an unpredictable and unfair testing experience.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise students to avoid courses that rely on McGraw‑Hill materials. If a class requires this platform, I recommend dropping it immediately and discussing alternative options with an academic advisor.
The text-to-speech function is in urgent need of an overhaul. It's annoying not being able to select the reading starting point. The timeline often doesn't align, making it a frustrating experience with TTS. It would be helpful if the feature highlighted words while reading so users can follow along. Also, I'm unable to use my own read-aloud extension on this platform, which works on others. Please make these changes!
The text-to-speech feature desperately needs an upgrade. It's incredibly frustrating not being able to select the reading point. The timeline is often off, making the TTS experience a real headache. Additionally, having a word highlight feature would help users keep pace with the reading. Plus, I can't use my own read-aloud extension on this platform, which works perfectly on others. Please make these improvements!
The products are truly disappointing. They don't clarify whether they adhere to the bankers' convention of 360 days, and you'll only find the right answers if you look them up yourself. Their answers can be incorrect, and the overall quality is just poor. It seems like they prioritize market dominance over product improvement. It's frustrating.
The subscription model is completely deceptive. Paying over $100 for temporary access to a textbook, with no option to save a PDF, is unreasonable. The textbook lacks value and has information readily available online. If I'm spending that much, I expect permanent access. The website's restrictions on saving materials feel very misleading. It appears the company benefits from partnerships with academic institutions rather than providing quality resources.
