New Outlook is unfit for purpose as a POP3 client. Don't even attempt it. I spent yesterday setting it up. Easy to connect. It will probably work better as an IMAP connection, but I need one place to store emails locally, some I need to keep for legal reasons ("the computer ate my emails" is not an excuse HMRC or the Probate Office would accept). Overnight, it lost all my subfolders, and the emails in them. It also lost most of my settings (the only one it kept was the time zone). The ability to save to People direct from emails is broken, it says "Saved", but has put nothing in People. There are no Categories for email, and you can't import old emails. I have ended up downloading Classic Outlook. All the Microsoft boards are full of very angry people complaining about new Outlook, and with good reason. Don't waste your time on it. Microsoft appear to be doing NOTHING to resolve the problems.
