One of my biggest learning curves with this program is I have discovered that I self-sabotage my progress, which has probably held me back from achieveing my weight loss goals in the past. I have also found that my mind-set has changed around food, that I can reward myself for a good week/ day without resorting to food, have watched the videos which are very helpful, information about various health issues and how to improve them, and found some great recipes to try. With regular feedback and support from my dietician Kirby, I am achieveing small micro goals which encourages me to keep moving forwards towards the larger goals of improved health overall, even if the weight loss has been a bit slow. This has been significant mindset change for me and my confidence that I will succeed this time. Previously if I had had a bad day I would have given up, but I am feeling much more confident in achieving my long-term health goals. I have added more interesting vegetables and fruits, and explored various recipes. I found the video on Type 2 Diabetes and the Mediterrenean diet particularly helpful and I am now following this type of diet more closely which is also creating a balance in my eating. My Blood Glucose levels have dropped back to normal (fasting) Previous diets would eliminate whole food groups - yes I would lose weight but it wasn't sustainable - I think this is the biggest difference with this program - I now am gaining confidence that I can do this for life not just for a few weeks.As a Type 2 Diabetic with other health issues it is also up to me to do the best I can to improve my life health- I'm in my early 60's and I want to be around at bit longer yet to see my grandchildren grow up.
