In advance of a relocation move to Portugal, I paid AGIS GROUP Mondial Care Worldwide Travel Insurance €704.00 (around $830) for Shengen Area medical coverage in Portugal for my wife and I commencing April 1st 2026. Due to a change in our travel plans we requested a cancellation and refund before the policies came into effect. Disappointingly this was refused, unless we provided them documentary evidence of Portuguese visa cancellation or refusal (neither of which we claimed had occurred). MondialCare AGIS GROUP provided me scans of the small print wording on their contract to justify keeping my money for services not rendered, so I'm likely screwed - nonetheless, I did snail mail complaints about my experience to ACPR – the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority and ORIAS France’s insurance intermediary registry. I wonder how eager and responsive Mondial Care are when it comes to paying medical bills accrued by their clients? I guess at least I won't need to find that out.
