A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE

I’m writing this to share a deeply concerning experience during a 10-day tour with this business. Since the tour ended, I have faced significant harassment from the owners, including aggressive messages and threats. One specific message from the owner stated: 'My family... will pray and ask bad wishes for your life... Trust me.' This behavior was so alarming that I have had to block all their contact numbers for my own peace of mind. The service issues began as soon as we arrived in Casablanca. Despite an agreement to pay the balance via debit card, the owner immediately took us to a bank and insisted we withdraw the entire amount in cash. He showed no regard for whether we needed cash for ourselves; once he was paid, his attitude shifted entirely.Furthermore, the itinerary was poorly managed. We were taken to the mosque at prayer time when the ticket office was closed, causing us to miss the visit to Rick’s place.I strongly advise others to be cautious, as the professional standards and post-tour conduct were unacceptable."He told us as we were arriving into Fez that we’d be visiting a tannery the next day. When asked about the smell, Rachid advised we would get some “mint leaves to put up our nose”. The next morning no mention of the tannery. When questioned Rachid said he had spoken with Aisha and “they decided” we wouldn’t like it that we’d go to one in Marrakech. We were meant to have a “guided” tour. “You will explore the medina with a licensed guide”. The guided tour didn’t eventuate. There was no mention of a tour of a ceramics factory, but we were taken to one. (kickbacks)For lunch, according to the itinerary, we were meant to eat at a “traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. We didn’t do that and in fact we didn’t get lunch at all that day. We drove on to Ifrane where we could have got some lunch but there was no communication as to what the plans were. By the time we arrived in Midelt it was too close to dinner time. Ifrane is known for its Alpine style architecture, but Rachid didn’t even bother to show us any of that. Just outside Ifrane, there was a great vantage point but there was no offer to stop so we could take some photos.Midelt to Merzouga Desert. It was definitely not a luxury camp!Day 6 “We will visit Khamlia village, the village of Hassilabiad and its nomads who live in the desert. After we visit Rissani we will have Berber pizza. After we eat, visit the Oasis of Merzouga.”It was like day 6 was just omitted without any communication with us.Day 8 “We will explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou during a private and guided excursion.” Well again, that didn’t happen. We were told it was closed because of the earthquake damage however we could see people were obviously in there because we could see them trekking up to a high point. On the drive to Essaouira we had to stop while Rachid and Aisha had breakfast. Any professional tour operator would not have done that. When we arrived back in Marrakech we were meant to have a guided tour which didn’t eventuate. Also, Rachid pointed to the mosque and said, “the tannery is just past it”. He did not take us; we were meant to find our own way.I am not sure why Aisha was there because she barely spoke at all, except when we arrived at her mother’s/sister’s house. Again, there was no communication with us until we were on their door step. Unbelieveably unprofessional! We sat in the car while she went inside with her sister. At times throughout our trip, Rachid was driving at 60 when the speed limit was 100. We now realise it was him slowing down to try to stretch out what time we arrived at our accommodation because he didn’t follow the itinerary and left out so much. Before we were back at accommodation in Spain, he had sent messages asking for a five star review.I certainly could not recommend Morocco Vacation Tour
