Absolute disgust. Had a warranty policy that I have been paying for 3 years. Fast forward - my car breaks down. I call in to discuss (as I was informed I only had a breakdown warranty during previous call) - my mistake is I thought they would cover the breakdown. Just sorry, recovery is my problem not theirs. Get a recovery quote, which was ridiculous, so called again and I got permission for the call centre to get a family member to tow my vehicle. I struggled for 3 weeks to get my vehicle booked in. Get the vehicle into a garage finally and get the car looked at. While trying to submit my claim, I call MotorEasy again, asking what I should do as the claim is asking me for a recovery receipt. I was informed to get a letter/statement from the family member who assisted me with the recovery. Submit my claim with the letter to Motoreasy who then declines my claim because I do not have a VAT invoice for the recovery (which is not what I was informed when calling the call centre). So they are very quick to take your money, and just as quick to reject any claims.

UPDATE 11/02/2026: Received a call from Dane Walters shortly after loading complaint on Trustpilot. Offered to take a look into what happened. Shared all the details as well as sequence of events. He gave me feedback and kept me up to date (so credit where credit is due - he has done well under the circumstances). I was informed that he will escalate the matter and asked that I remove my review from Trustpilot to allow him to try find a resolution. I honoured that and removed the review.

UPDATE 12/02/2026: Received a random payment from MotorEasy into my personal account. 2 Separate payments totalling £412. I have reached out to Dane to ask what the payments were for, and still awaiting a response. Here is my maths. I have been paying the warranty for 3 years @ £ 25 per month. So I invested into this policy +- £ 900. This seems like a good business scam being run by MotorEasy - pay them, then when you have a claim, instead of honouring the claim, they will refund you less than 50% of your premiums. I would have had £997 including interest if I just paid this monthly amount into a savings account. If I had to equat the amount of hours I had to put in to get all the requested paperwork by MotorEasy - I suspect anyone would probably just be better off saving your money monthly. As consumer, you WILL be better off (note: I am not a financial advisor, but the maths are not complicated)

UPDATE 13/02/2026: Still awaiting an answer from MotorEasy about the random payment I received, absolute radio silence now. Have reached out twice to try and get some answers. Received a call from Dane late afternoon - could not open my profile so had no idea why there was payment made. Said he will follow up and get back to me early the following week - but that he suspects the payment was made in error.

Update 18/02/2026: Followed up with an email to Dane again, as not getting any feedback as it stands.

Update 20/02/2026: Sent another follow up email, this time received an email that he will call me after lunch.

Update 26/02/2026: So it has been a week of zero communication from MotorEasy. I specified in my last communication that my policy is up for renewal and a decision needs to be made from MotorEasy side whether they will at least support realistically before my policy renewal is due. The silence has been numbing to say the least.

Summary: As I worked in the automotive industry for well over 10 years, I believe I have dealt with numerous "warranty" providers and what their requirements would be. I believe that I have followed every reasonable requirement under the circumstances (each step done so with approval from the call centre). If you are reading this review - you need to make the decision for yourself. If you decide to take out a MotorEasy warranty. DO NOT rely on the call centre for guidance - know the policy better than any other document. IF you not willing to go through that, save your money into a savings account, at least you are guaranteed a return.

Additional information after MotorEasy's response to my review:
Correct, the policy I had was a Lite policy - as at the time of sale, I enquired what is covered and from what was explained over the phone to be, it sounded sufficient. Additional - the breakdown was not caused due to a worn out clutch, but a failed thrust bearing - so the argument is void. Thirdly - the vehicle was not recovered by a VAT registered recovery company, this is covered in my review above.
Thank you for adding the "internal noise" that was noted during the MOT. When I was informed about the noise, is when I called MotorEasy to report this, this is when I was informed that I have a breakdown warranty and should just drive until it breaks. This is referred to in paragraph 1, where I found out it is only for breakdowns and nothing else.
