I'm absolutely gutted that I have to write this post but unfortunately I've been left with no other choice. We purchased a sofa from Moy Furniture Centre Limited in September 2021. We picked the perfect sofa for our extension and were more than happy with the service we had received. Our sofa arrived around the same time as we found we had been caught by a fraudulent builder, who obtained the deposit for our kitchen, windows and roofing materials. We lost a substantial amount of money and were left in a position where our back garden had been completely dug up and we had been left with the start of piling foundations that were in the wrong place and of no use to anyone. I explained our circumstances to a member of the team at Moy Furniture Centre who was more than helpful and sympathetic to our situation, I advised her that we had a long road ahead and she told me not to worry, they would hold my sofa for me and if anything changed they would be in touch. Forward step to this week when I went to organise the delivery of my sofa, I made enquiries on Friday and with no returned call, I phoned again on Saturday. The colleague I spoke to was extremely rude and abrupt, when I asked for my deposit back I was told she couldn't authorise it. Once again this morning I phoned back to see if anyone could help. I received a call back this evening from John who informed me that my sofa had been sold at a discounted rate and my deposit would not be returned. He stated that they had never been able to contact me, clearly no notes had been made from my initial conversation, He also added that he would reorder my sofa for me as a gesture of goodwill ( charging todays prices and would expect full payment before order ). MY £500 deposit has clearly been added to the profit line of this company and I'm now back at square one with no sofa and -£500. We went to this company as they advertise as being a local family business, clearly I wish now we hadn't supported local 😡
