When I failed my 1st attempt of Step 1, I was devastated. I thought that just because I had worked hard, everything would turn out ok. What I didn't realize is that my approach was flawed. While I did focus on my weaknesses and all the metrics pointed towards me being ready to sit, I was not truly ready. Why? Because I primarily focused on content review over drilling questions for an exam full of 3rd and 4th order questions. I passed my 2nd attempt today and Muhammad played a large role in my success. He conveyed the importance of using questions to direct your learning, which seems obvious in hindsight but is something that cannot be understated. He also teaches you to approach every question with a standardized approach in order to have a tried and true framework that you can always rely on under time pressure. Could I have passed my 2nd attempt without Muhammad? Maybe sure, this test is really about having a solid foundation and then drilling as many questions as possible for pattern recognition. But Muhammad gave me a toolbox that I can use for shelf exams and beyond as well as support during this difficult time, both of which were invaluable
