Worst ISP in Africa

When the internet hit South Africa back in the 1990’s I was one of the first to sign up for an Mweb domain. But 4 years down the line, things changed and I discovered better options.Today, nearly 25 years later, I realised why Afrihost and the others are still better than Mweb.It all started with a domain name, which I wanted. But I couldn’t get it for reasons I don’t want to share. The alternative was to transfer the domain, and apply for a hosting package with Mweb. After battling for a few tries to get the OTP, I opted to use a different number. I received the OTP and proceeded to place the order.Since I have my own webhosting company, I was surprized to see I could not access my account immediately after checkout. But I guess not everyone is fast.A few hours later, and the order was still “processing” although the domain was “active”.9 hours later and I decided to log a Query. The screen looks like this:Now try to select an option. It’s like catching a fly in the dark. It just does not work. After abondoning Mission Impossible 1, I decided to call them. Oh my word! Mission Impossible 2.After the 5th try, pretending to be a new customer, the phone was answered. I almost expected the caller to say “Welcome at Home Affairs”.In the process, I received an SMS to say the bank account verification process failed.Speaking to the operator, who tried her best to stay positive, working for a place like Mweb, I learned that the Number on the bank’s records, must match the one on my Mweb account.Since I used two numbers just to place the order, I was no longer sure which number the bank had on record, but after checking, it was the one, that Mweb refused to send the OTP to.So I tried to call again. Mission Impossible 3.Now, I am at the point where I desperately need some clown in this circus to call me, so I can ask them just to close my account and crawl back into the cave they came from.I tried contacting them on Facebook, Mission Impossible 4.I tried contact them via Hellopeter.com. Mission in progress. But one thing is for sure. Mweb will not get my business until they are nicely grown up, finished learning how business works, and waited until the first man walks on Saturn. Until then, they do not exist.
