This is written as a description of the support that I received from “MyBookWriters”, and more specifically, the support that I received my assigned project manager, Sarah Roger, during the last eight months. I had the unenviable task of taking a French author’s book and editing it and overseeing the accompanying translation effort to get his book put into American English so that an American audience could enjoy his work of non-fiction. I was fairly surprised how easy it was to engage to services of a self-publication company. In fact, I was delighted with how easy it was, and how relatively inexpensive it was. I was truly amazed. Part of my experience was the project manager that was assigned me, Sarah Roger. I am going to talk about five traits that she has that made my task doable, in fact enjoyable. Number one is that she is highly literate. You would expect that from a project manager from a self-publishing company. However, Sarah is definitely able to cope with all the grammar and all the English questions and problems that arise when taking a foreign author’s translation and putting it into an American work of nonfiction. Number two on her list of positive traits is her experience. I actually have no idea how much experience she has but she definitely came across to me as someone who knew what to do and how to do it when working with customers like me – I'm sure she gets a lot of them. Maybe her most outstanding trait is how helpful she is. She's always positive and always supportive. She always has a smile in her voice when helping out the befuddled customer (people like me). I'm sure she gets a lot of different kinds of writers and I'm sure she works extremely well with all of them. Quality number four is her patience. She was certainly patient with me and I was working with a non-English speaking writer and two interpreters so that the text that I was dealing with was complicated. Sarah was very patient in assisting me to work my way through all the problems of getting the text correct. I think our final product was terrific and I thank her for that. And lastly, I think her professionalism was outstanding. I'm not sure how long she's been doing this, but she made it seem so effortless on her part to cope with the seeming endless stream of questions and comments that I had with the ins and outs of the publishing process. In summary, it was great pleasure to work with Sarah Roger and I would recommend her to anybody.
