They do make it easy for you handling all the work for you. Especially as an international it is a great service. They do charge you a hefty sum tho. I belive it is 25% of your first payout. I only wanted to apply for the grant you get when you work 32h/month as an international. By all means I thought this was the only thing I was going to get since that is what I especially stated. However, in their fine-print they write that they will also apply the student loan for you. This is easy to miss. It definitely feels intentional. As a service to help international students settle in their life in the Netherlands and help you navigate the Dutch bureaucracy they should make it REALLY clear that they also will apply you to the student loan. Their 25% charge rate is a lot bigger payout for them on the Grant + Loan than just the grant. Grant being around 300€ and loan being around 800-1000€. Absolutely I could have read the fine-print better, that is on me. But as an international student newly moved to The Netherlands there is a lot to handle in the beginning. And a helping hand like this service is more than welcomed. But this is no helping hand, this is classic corporate greed.
