The Serel Prelude toilet seat arrived in battered packaging and did not seem to be in new condition, as the hinges were already fitted and there were no instructions included. The seat did not fit the toilet and it took 6 weeks of email exchanges before MTS agreed to accept a return. Even then, they insisted on an 'unopened hinge pack' which I could not provide, having never received one. Although MTS did engage with me by email they employed the tactic of repeatedly requesting photos of the seat in and out of its original packaging, justifying this by saying that they were trying to help me to fit it, and blaming my lack of skill when this was not possible. It seemed that they would do anything to avoid accepting a return and providing a refund.In desperation I eventually looked for a Complaints Procedure on the MTS website but could not find one, so wrote my own letter of complaint, to which they did respond, but still did not offer a refund. Finally, intending to make a Section 75 claim, I realised that I would have to return the seat without gaining prior approval, and at last, 3 months after making the initial purchase, MTS promptly repaid me.This was a saga that I would never wish to repeat and would like to warn anyone contemplating making a purchase from this firm to consider how much time they wish to waste in attempting to obtain a refund if anything goes wrong.
