I had an extremely disappointing and distressing experience with MVS Law (My Visa Source). I hired them for my Canadian permanent residency application - one of the most important steps of my life - and what I received in return was consistent negligence, misrepresentation, constant staff turnover, seriously poor communication, and a troubling lack of professional standards.I was initially promised a team of experienced legal professionals and personalized attention. Instead, my file was mishandled by a rotating cast of case analysts and lawyers. Each time a new person was introduced, I had to resend documents and instructions, as no one seemed to be fully up to speed. I was constantly chasing them for updates over several months, correcting serious mistakes (including use of outdated forms and grossly incorrect personal information), and felt unsupported throughout. Each time a new team member was assigned to my file, I reiterated the urgency of my situation - but my concerns were consistently brushed aside, and no one ever acted with the seriousness or timeliness the matter required. My calls were ignored and never returned, and the direct legal guidance I paid for was virtually nonexistent - the lawyers rarely responded, and I was actively barred from speaking with them. Case analysts positioned themselves as gatekeepers, often saying they’d only pass along questions they couldn’t answer themselves, which left me with limited access to proper legal advice throughout the process. My requests to verify the licensing credentials of each lawyer assigned to my file were ignored, which further eroded my trust.Even after I terminated the agreement due to poor service, MVS initiated a PR application on the IRCC portal on my behalf without my consent, which I found highly alarming. I had to personally intervene and ask them to delete that application. While I was told by email that the application was deleted, I never received the written confirmation I requested on official letterhead - and my request to delete any sensitive information of mine that wasn't required by law to retain, was dismissed with no official letterhead confirmation of this decision either, which I had requested multiple times.What ultimately pushed me to speak out was a Reddit thread where many users shared similar experiences and urged others to report the firm to the Law Society of Ontario. I followed that advice and submitted formal complaints. Shortly after I posted a Google review outlining my experience, the Chief Compliance Officer from MVS contacted me and acknowledged seeing my review. He then offered me a full refund only if I took the review down and signed a legal agreement that included a broad silencing clause that would restrict me from ever discussing my experience again, "whether written or oral and whether true or not". I found this deeply unethical and inappropriate, so I refused and pushed back.Eventually, they agreed to issue a full refund without conditions, which I received. However, the offer came only after public pressure and my refusal to be silenced.If you value transparency, ethics, and competent legal support, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
