I have been a satisfied Nat West customer for decades. Beware! If you work abroad this bank lulls you with a false sense of security and then? I reported my card was damaged due to wear and tear as the laminate on my card was beginning to peal off, they asked me for my address, I told them I was working abroad on a Government project. I gave them my address where I am temporarily staying while I work on the project. They know I really on my state pension because at the moment in time my work is voluntary until the company becomes a working and trading business. I was told that my new debit card had been dispatched and that it would arrive to me within 25 working days, a few days later when I reported an unauthorised transaction from my bank account after asking about my new debit card it had been stopped due to the high risk of fraud in the country I was residing in, isn't every country at risk from fraud? I was cross and angry, I was assured a new card would be dispatched. The next day I went for breakfast with my partner, this is when it turned bad! I tried to pay for my meal and the waitress said on the message my card had been declined because it was lost or stolen! I was flabbergasted! Luckily we had the cash to settle the bill. I contacted Nat West, after 4 hours they replied back, they assured me that my debit card was OK and that it must have been a faulty payment machine. I went to the ATM to draw cash, big mistake! The ATM displayed the same message and swallowed my card! Here I am thousands of miles away from the UK with no way back! Do not trust this bank! I am disgusted with their service, it's obvious they don't care if I survive or not! I am going to take this further when I get back to the UK! Get ready Nat West! This is not over!
