When my local newsagent closed they sent all of our details to Newsquest. I contacted Newsquest and advised them I did NOT wish to have an account with them and asked them to delete all of my details in accordance with GDPR. This morning I have received a bill for £12.84! I do not owe them any money as they have never delivered me any newspapers. I have been unable to get through on the telephone. Clearly they have breached their GDPR obligations as they have retained my details without having a business need to do so, therefore I will be reporting them to the Information Commissioners Office.UPDATE- in the interest of being fair, I can report that Sarah from Newsquest has contacted me to confirm that the invoice has been cancelled and she will ensure my details are deleted. If I receive any further bills I will update my post.
