The estimate given over the phone was significantly lower than the actual amount, even though I gave an extremely detailed description of how many boxes and their sizes. I even cut down on the number of items, and it was still way over the estimated amount (almost double).I eventually was able to get a discount on the move but it was still a huge jump in price from the original estimate. I was also worried that my signature "somehow" ended up on a revised estimate they tried to send to me digitally, but I had NEVER seen that revised paper estimate before (they sent me photos).Additionally, the movers showed up an hour early. I can only assume they wanted to catch me off guard so I would feel scattered and indebted, and then I would sign/agree to whatever they asked.Halfway through the move, they switched me to a different subcontracted company without informing me.After every interaction with their personnel, I came away feeling they had taken advantage of me. Their tone was condescending, sending the message that "Well, if you were really business-savy you would have known this is how grownups work in the real world..."I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone I cared about, and would never contract them again. The innate emotional stress of moving was significantly (and unnecessarily) compounded by their questionable and unprofessional business practices.
