2-Year Waiting List: A "Trust" That Is Truly Being Tested

Nope the NHS is funded to the tune of £1 billion sterling, The same amount of money as the US navy is supplied to police the entire world. So one would expect quite a bit more from them.I want to begin by offering my sincere accolades to the NHS staff themselves. The doctors, nurses, and frontline workers are generally excellent, hardworking, and doing their absolute best under impossible circumstances. They are the only reason the wheels haven't fallen off entirely. However, the system they work within is a different story altogether. The "Leaderboard" of Agony:A two-year waiting list just to see a specialist—what an absolute dream! Perhaps we should all start a national leaderboard to compare waiting times while we're writhing in agony; it might add some competitive entertainment to the "suspense."Imagine taking your car to a mechanic and being told, “You’re on a two-year waiting list just to say hello to the specialist, and it’ll be another year before we actually pick up a spanner.” You’d laugh, you'd cry, and you’d find another mechanic immediately. Unfortunately, in this "Trust" relationship, you can't. You’ve already paid your bill through a lifetime of taxes, yet the actual service remains a distant mirage on the healthcare horizon.A Business Model Built on 1948 Dreams:The NHS was formed after WWII (July 5, 1948) as a way to consolidate medical care. It was a fantastic, noble concept for the world of 1948. But show me any other business model that could operate purely on "trust" like this without going bust. It is a business that is failing its "shareholders"—the British taxpayers. The system is clearly buckling under the pressure of a population that has grown far beyond what the infrastructure was ever designed to handle. We are seeing a complete breakdown of a once-great institution. Churchill would likely be turning in his grave if he saw that his "Cohesive Unit" has become a queue that never ends. We have the best people, but they are trapped in the world's most inefficient waiting room.I have used AI to spell check my reviews only.
