Very helpful. Foster carers need a Union as you can feel very vulnerable in your role as we don’t have workers rights yet the work is high risk managing vulnerable and often traumatised children. Hopefully you have a good Social Worker but joining the Union gives you an extra safety blanket. When I needed help the Union rep was very informed and passionate about the work of the union always got back to me and was a great help and comfort.
