I purchased a Nurosym device in the autumn to hopefully help with chronic pain and inflammation issues. I used it as recommended, initially twice daily for around two months, always staying within the suggested settings.During this period, I became aware of increasing tinnitus in my left ear, which is the side where the device connects. As the tinnitus worsened, I reduced both the intensity and frequency of use, eventually cutting back to once a week. Despite stopping use altogether, I now have constant, deafening tinnitus in my left ear that does not go away. This was not something I experienced before using the device.I contacted Nurosym support several times about this. While the responses were polite and well written, they were clearly AI-generated. My concerns were later “escalated” to a named AI doctor who, when searched for online, appears to be a doctor persona they use. I found this extremely disingenuous. I would much rather receive an honest reply stating that responses are AI-generated or hear directly from a real person who has considered my feedback, rather than being given the impression of escalated medical oversight that does not exist.I received a discount to take part in what was described as a study. I did not expect a clinical trial, but I did expect something more substantial than what turned out to be a very light-touch online survey that did not meaningfully explore side effects or outcomes and did not appear to have any subsequent interactions planned. This has left me with the impression that the “study” element is more of a marketing exercise than a genuine attempt to gather robust user data.Unfortunately, I experienced no positive benefits from the device, despite the significant cost. What I am left with instead is permanent, intrusive tinnitus that now affects everyday activities. I have noticed other users reporting worsened tinnitus. I’m concerned that this risk may be underrepresented in public reviews.I am genuinely gutted that this device did not help me, but I feel strongly that potential users should be aware that tinnitus can be a serious side effect, even when the device is used within recommended guidelines. This is something I may now have to live with long-term.I am sharing this review simply to ensure others can make a fully informed decision.
