Everything is perfect when you are moving in and paying them, when it comes to moving out and receiving your deposit, it becomes story after story. I would rate their services poorly due to significant issues with transparency and communication regarding the handling of my security deposit. After vacating the property, I was refunded only €1,045.50, which was substantially less than expected. Initially, OCCU communicated that deductions would total €630 after making several calls and communicating with Nick and Tina. However, additional deductions were applied without prior notification, and these were only revealed after the refund was processed. This lack of clear communication and failure to provide a detailed breakdown of deductions beforehand raises serious concerns about their adherence to the transparency requirements outlined in the Residential Tenancies Act 2004 (as amended). The Act, overseen by the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB), mandates that landlords handle security deposits with clarity and fairness, which was not my experience with OCCU.While I am awaiting a response with a breakdown and evidence for the deductions, the handling of this matter has been disappointing and has eroded my trust in OCCU’s services similar to previous tenants reviews. I would caution potential tenants to approach with vigilance and ensure all terms regarding deposits are explicitly documented. If my concerns are not addressed satisfactorily, I will pursue resolution through the RTB’s dispute resolution service.Rating: 1/5Until OCCU improves their communication and transparency, I cannot recommend their services.
