I really wanted to do practical electronics. This course offers the opportunity to learn the basics and build further knowledge. There are many learning resources by way of courses on many aspects of electronic theory and practice. I like the detail and support that this course offers.
Active and Reactive CommunityActive as they email weekly with circuit and other helpful ideas. Excellent lesson plans. Curated tracks.Active and reactive ~ email weekly about new ideas and advice & reactive as you get a quick response the issues and problems.Lessons are well presented with explanations, circuit diagrams and where helpful short videos. Many courses are stand-alone, while other courses are curated into tracks.
A couple of years ago, I got fascinated by some tiny smart home relays and became interested in energy savings ideas. But I realized soon that I had no clue of electrical engineering. As a consequence, I began to study electrical engineering online. During this study I had to design and build a few circuits so far. But the theory I've learned in the other courses didn't help me very much building my circuits. That's why I joined Ohmify, namely to compliment my studies of electronics with practical experience. And it worked out great. Not only with regard to the basics I was lacking but also with some project challenges.
I've been a member of Ohmify for several months now. And the learning experience has been surprisingly pleasant. Most electronic teaching sites I've encountered in the past tend to go from zero knowledge to complex circuitry within a matter of a few courses, totally overwhelming the learner. Not Ohmify. Each step you take on the learning ladder is explained simply and in a language that you understand without too much science gobbledygook. I followed every single lesson to the letter, sometimes repeating the same lesson over and over again, making slight changes to see what happens. I've learned about resistance and resistors, power and current and voltage and how all three are affected by different components, such as capacitors, transistors and LEDs. If there ever was an electronics course for the novice this is it. But it doesn't stop there. I've had a sneak into what lays ahead and to be honest I can't wait to get there. Microcontroller programming, motor drive control, remote control via WiFi or even over the web. I can't wait to see what I am to learn next.
I like rapid feedback. That helps me correct my thinking. For improvement, I think, once a principle is stated and an example explained, there should be several other examples for the student to work out (like the end of chapter exercises in a math book). I think this would drive the lesson home. I haven't worked on an outside independent project--that would help me also. I should do that.
I recently joined Ohmify, actually this is my 2nd time I joined, first time life got in the way so I left for awhile. Because of the positive experience I had with Ohmify I came back as I missed the information and the community. To date it has been an absolutely worthwhile experience! This online electronics club offers an incredible platform for learning and exploring the fascinating world of electronics. For someone who wants to learn electronics as a hobby, or even if you have experience in electronics I think this is a great place to hang your hat. I have been impressed by the welcoming and supportive community. The brain child of Oyvind coupled with his team are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about electronics, and they go out of their way to make sure every member understands the concepts and feels confident in their abilities. The lessons are well-structured, starting with the basics and gradually moving on to more complex topics, ensuring a solid foundation is built. One of the standout features of Ohmify is the hands-on approach to learning. Lessons offered include basic electronic theory, tackling individual components, resisters, capacitors, transistors, learning how to use test equipment from multimetres to oscilloscopes, etc. Accompanied by practical projects that allow you to apply what you've learned and see real-world results. Building projects not only solidifies your understanding but also makes learning incredibly fun and engaging. The club also offers a wealth of resources, including video tutorials, and a community forum where members can ask questions, share their projects, and collaborate on ideas. The interactive nature of the club fosters a sense of camaraderie and makes the learning process even more enjoyable.Overall, Ohmify is an outstanding online electronics club in my opinion that excels in teaching electronics through hands-on projects. The combination of expert instruction given with passion, practical application, and a supportive community makes it the perfect place to learn and grow your skills in electronics. I highly recommend Ohmify to anyone interested in exploring the world of electronics, whether for a hobby or a career!
