I purchased a Rolex Datejust with diamond markers from OMI Jewelry, expecting both quality craftsmanship and reliable customer service. Unfortunately, within just a couple of months of ownership, I encountered my first issue. While on vacation in Cancun, humidity somehow entered the watch — something that should not happen with a Rolex. I returned the watch for repair, which OMI handled.A few months later, I wore the watch again and discovered that several of the diamond-encrusted hour markers had fallen off. This was the second repair needed within only seven months of ownership. This is not a watch I wear daily; in fact, I estimate I’ve worn it fewer than 10 times in that entire period. For a luxury watch — especially a Rolex — this level of recurring issues is alarming. What has been equally disappointing is the change in OMI’s responsiveness. When I was in the buying process, they were highly attentive, quick to respond, and eager to answer every question. However, when it came time to address this second repair, communication slowed dramatically. I had to follow up repeatedly and even express that I would consider legal counsel to get an appropriate response.I understand that after a sale, a repair may not generate new revenue for a business, but for a high-value purchase, post-sale service is just as important as the initial transaction. The experience has left me deeply concerned about both the quality of the watch and the company’s commitment to customer care. OMI’s warranty covers only two repairs per year, so I worry about what will happen after the two-year warranty expires if these issues continue. My fiancée has purchased multiple items from OMI, but after seeing how my situation was handled, she too has reconsidered doing business with them. We were referred to OMI by several customers, but based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend them.
