I was almost overcharged in the sunderland store today.I had 2 items and had worked out roughly what the cost should be at the till of £2.I was asked for 50p more than it should be i.e. £2.50 and when I queried it, she said £2.15p. I said that I thought she'd said five oh 50 and she replied no fifteen.I paid and walked away. When I checked my change and the receipt I found she had actually charged me 50p too much.I'd stood in the queue for ages in the first place, but had to go back into the store and take a photo of the item on the shelf which showed the price as £1 and not the £1.50 she'd charged me.I had to queue again and when I showed her the picture on the shelf of the correct price, her response was 'Well the till says £1.50'!!!!!After advising I wouldn't be paying £1.50 for a £1 item she eventually rang a bell. A while later a guy with glasses turns up. I explained the situation to him and instead of sorting it out properly he just asked if I wanted a refund. So I left the shop without the item as I wasn't prepared to pay 50% more for it.Customer service in this store is shocking. Despite querying the price at the check out I was fobbed off and still overcharged. Had I not checked my receipt I wouldn't have known I'd been ripped off.One of my pet hates is poorly trained staff and those shops that overcharge you. If they overcharge every customer by 50p they'll be quids in.For me it's not the amount I'm overcharged but the principle of it.I would suggest anyone shopping here works out roughly what the cost should be, before you get to the till and always check your receipt and your change.
