Extremely disappointed experience with OnePlus

I have been a loyal OnePlus customer for over five years, investing significant amounts of money in phones, accessories, and smart devices for myself and my family. Until recently, I wholeheartedly trusted and recommended the brand repeatedly; however, after my latest experience, I can no longer do so and will not be purchasing or recommending OnePlus products again.I purchased a OnePlus Watch, which is explicitly advertised as having an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. One day, after my usual morning workout, the watch’s battery was depleted. As I had done many times before, I removed it from my wrist and placed it on the charger. To my surprise, the device did not turn on again. Since the watch was only six months old and still under warranty, I promptly sent it to OnePlus Customer Service for repair.A few days later, I received a response stating that the watch had suffered “liquid damage” and, as a result, would not be covered under warranty. This was both shocking and unacceptable to me, as the device had never been exposed to liquids beyond what is explicitly claimed under its IP68 rating and as stated on OnePlus’s official website.To be clear, this is my sixth smartwatch, and I am fully aware of how to properly handle such devices. In fact, with my previous watch — also rated IP68 — I took the risk to use it in scuba diving (not professional) and remains fully functional. This OnePlus Watch, on the other hand, was used only in a swimming pool during a regular practice session.To make matters worse, OnePlus implied the damage was my fault and offered me a 10% discount on a new watch, along with a suggestion to “recycle” my current device. For the record, I have no interest in a discount; I expect my watch to be repaired or replaced under warranty as any reputable company would do.Based on my experience with similar devices, this is clearly a product flaw of the watch's sealing, yet OnePlus refuses to take responsibility. This approach is not only extremely disappointing but also feels deceptive and disrespectful to loyal customers.I strongly urge others to be cautious! Should an issue arise, you will likely be left alone and blamed for defects that are clearly due to manufacturing failures.Through this experience, OnePlus has not only lost my business but also my trust and respect.
