OnePlus 9 - 5G does not work on O2 UK

I recently bought the new OnePlus 9 phone. On first impressions, it is excellent with a great camera, fast charging, etc. However, there's a bit of a show-stopper that is not at all clear when you purchase the device. It does not support 5G on the O2 UK network (including resellers like Tesco and GiffGaff). OnePlus has confirmed that the issue lies with them rather than O2 but gives no timescales to resolve it. In fact, it's an issue that has impacted previous models and still exists today (> 1 year later). So it's a 5 star if you're on another network that 5G works on, otherwise only a 3! and that I believe is generous.Update: Thank you, OnePlus, for your feedback. However, I would like to share with everyone why your comments are not accurate. Key points:* Band - O2 does support the Bands required (n28/n78) and all LTE bands. This was confirmed by both O2 and OnePlus technical support.* There is no explicit white/blacklisting of phones performed by O2. This is a problem with the OnePlus implementation or configuration. To comment on the last point made. I have reviewed the OnePlus community forums, and if you search for the term "O2 UK 5G", you will see plenty of results. Here are some examples if you search for the term and pick the closest matching article by name:- Search term: "5g on o2 UK"A manual workaround proves the phone and O2 can work together but do not out of the box. No information is provided on how well the two work together.- Search term: "O2 UK 5G network is disabled"Explains why it is a OnePlus issue and not an O2 issue. There is likely an unexplained reason behind this that OnePlus should be more transparent about. I hope OnePlus will explain to its customer what the real underlying issue is and when it will be fixed (if at all).- Search for term: "5G on O2 UK"Note how long this issue has existed and on previous handsets. Also, a statement from O2.
