I ordered $3,000 worth of boat speakers (2 tower speakers and a subwoofer) on a coupon code that gave me a 15% discount. I decided I wanted to order an additional 8 speakers for an additional expense of $3,000 so that would total $6,000 before discount and just shy of $5,000 after the 15% discount was applied. I called the sales department after realizing the additional 8 speakers I wanted to buy were not in stock. A sales woman named Shantel called me right back after checking on availability and said they had them coming in the following Wednesday and that she would put by name upon them and ship them right out. I said fantastic I'd like to use the 15% discount code I received to purchase them and she promptly told me she could not do that because these speakers were already spoken for and that she was moving me up in line to get them before this other customer and that she would ask her boss if she could honor the 7% that they were currently running for a "tax refund" promo. I told her there was no need to check with her boss that I would just pass and purchase them elsewhere for the 15% off and at the time she asked me to hold and then told me she was making an executive decision to honor the 15% discount I was given online. I said great let's move forward. I clarified that I would be receiving the additional 8 speakers the following Wednesday and she said yes at the latest they would ship out at the end of the week. So that time line came and went and no word from her or anyone at Online Car Stereo so the following week Monday I emailed customer support asking for an update on my order. No reply at all (even to this day 2 weeks later). So a few days pass and I call customer support and talk to a John R. who was pleasant but I was on hold for roughly 15min while waiting to see where my order was at. John returned to the phone to inform that JL Audio had shipped a shipment but my order was not on it and he suspected it would be on this next order which was 2 weeks after I was promised or potentially the next one a week after that. The fact John was not sure when my order was coming was unnerving. I explained to John R. my experience with Shantel and that she promised me the speakers would be have been shipped 4 days after I ordered them and now it's been 2 weeks along with no one communicating to me about my order and he said that he would email me directly and asked that I follow up with him directly on Friday. I did exactly that and guess what??? John R. who apologized profusely to me for my experience and promised to get back to me did not get back to me or reply to my email. Shocking. So, I call customer service yet again and speak to Maria and I again explain the situation and of course she explains how this never happens and she is soooo sorry for how I am being treated and assures me that she or Shantel my sales woman will reach back out in 10-15 minutes. Never happens of course. Saturday rolls around and now I just want to cancel my order so I call the sales line and Shantel answers!!! I'm so excited to finally get the person I was dealing with initially on the phone but she quickly tells me that she's in the middle of something and will call me back in "2 minutes" and she's super sorry but she will call me right back. She never calls. Almost 4 hours later I call and she again starts apologizing and I just said listen it's ok I just want to cancel my order and that I do not want to do business with them at all. Get this...She tells me she's going to call me back:). I love it. She says if she doesn't call me back to reach out to her and she will then get my order cancelled for me. I bet I have to get American Express involved Monday. What do you think?! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE.
