I ordered a $18 hat band (order#203548) that looked very nice on the website but not so much in person. I requested an RMA to return it to find out that they charge a $8 flat rate shipping fee. For an large item, that would be a good deal but not a tiny little hat band. I could mail this myself for less than $3. They give you a label to print out but I don’t own a printer or even a laptop. I have no printing capabilities thru my phone. I called their 800 number but they were already closed. I’ll try again tomorrow and see if they they will allow me to mail it back without their label. I wish the product was better quality because this has been a total waste of my time.Update 5/13/2023 I spoke to a customer service representative. She said that I would be charged for the $8 shipping charge even if I pay for the shipping back. They make no exceptions for the item being returned. She recommended keeping the item because it wasn’t worth sending it back. That’s the key to the shipping charge, make it not worth returning and it’s a win win for them. If you return the item, it’s a win win for them. I will check the return policy on any future online purchase before hitting the buy button. I will never do business with Outback Trading Co again.
