I am not kidding, the account was to support Ukraine after the brutal illegal full scale invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine are effectively giving the lives of their heroes so we avoid war in the West, our Politicians fail us so it is left to volunteers to raise money for Ukraine. Patreon objected to Russia being called occupiers, yet Russian POW's have said they are occupiers. International law recognises the Ukraine borders as those of the 1997 agreements.Ukraine and Russia, signed in 1997, which fixed the principle of strategic partnership, the recognition of the inviolability of existing borders, and respect for territorial integrity and mutual commitment not to use its territory to harm the security of each other.Russia is not only in breach of that agreement they have been found by the International Court in The Hague of being guilty of war crimes. So in this behaviour Patreon is clearly supporting Russia and all it's war crimes.Now we all know that Russia has made the infowars an art form, millions of accounts operated from VPN's attack a site with fake complaints to silence any opposition to the Russian full scale invasion of Ukraine. For the owners of Patreon to fall for this and to close the accounts of decent people is to be honest quite obscene. However you feel about Ukraine and Russia just take this policy of Patreon to it's conclusion. If tomorrow the Patreon Thought Police decide they do not like what you are passionate about, they can shut you down with no warning, no appeal, nothing.That is why you can't trust them, unless they reverse this decision and apologise for the harm caused not only to their customer but to the community created on Patreon, then they are finished.Patreon Inc is funded by 38 investors according to Crunchbase, well my recommendation is to sell sell sell because as word is getting around it is clear that Patreon customers will no longer Trust their income streams to Patreon. I happen to have family members who provide billions in Tech Funding, they are already taking this matter very seriously. Two have told me they plan to carefully pull out of Patreon funding and will not consider future funding of Patreon.In our democratic countries we have a sense of JUSTICE, we give people a chance to defend themselves and most online platforms have a system of warning a content provider to change any breach of their community guidelines. Part of the infowars is having fake accounts demand en masse that community guidelines are changed.We live in a world that is very divisive, Russia has developed so called hate factories, they were run by Prigozhin before his plane was shot down in Russia.One would expect an organisation like Patreon to be wise to this. To look up the IP's addresses, to verify those IP addresses are not owned by VPN providers and to dig deep into mass complaints.If you know someone who depends on Patreon, warn them to immediately create alternate platforms. Tell Patreon how you feel about their treatment of those that support Ukraine, do it now and share with your friends. Warn them that Patreon simply can't be trusted.
