Lots of folks have commented on this, but support is useless. You're looking at a week+ wait time and they'll just copy and paste an article that seems vaguely relevant to your question. I asked what date I would need to submit my information for a new policy, they would not give me the date even though it was their own policy?I haven't had too much trouble with the people I'm supporting OR getting supported by people, but Patreon itself is a nightmare. Constantly changing policies that are not regularly enforced, no content moderation (so a lot of scammers if you're not careful - make sure to only be supporting people you already follow), no support at all, and extremely high fees for no service.If you are getting "Payment Failed" notifications, I found out that Patreon repeatedly charges your account. Paypal blocked the payment, and while I was trying to get it unblocked, Patreon kept trying to withdraw the payment, which Paypal flagged as a scam, making it extremely hard to solve the payment issue. You also can't cancel your membership while trapped in this situation. I got it managed the first month, but it was blocked again this month, likely due to Patreon's aggressive withdrawal techniques.With the latest policy change, I'm just deleting my account. After firing their entire security staff and then immediately asking for critical information from me after, I've decided it's just too sketchy. I wish there were more alternatives, but I'd rather try my luck on my own than with these scumbags anymore.
