I’m helping a 93 yrs old ,almost blind lady ,to negotiate changing from direct debit to the new payable system at Port macquarie Hastings council.The customer service was dreadful.Folded arms and “I can’t help you!”was the response.We were sent home twice with no help.The govt want to keep old people in their homes but changing the system after it had been in operation for years is unfair.There was no understanding ,compassion,empathy.“You just do it online”was barked at her all the time.This lady was never taught computers,how can she do it online.?If council changes the rules it should be brought in with help ,clear explanations,bending of rules to fill in forms for the elderly with empathy and compassion.
