People often say, “If the price is too good to be true, it probably is.” Long story short, I, too, fell victim to this scammer—Pearls Lover.I purchased a pair of earrings online that looked gorgeous. A few weeks later, not only was the item I received different from what I ordered (though it had a similar design), but it also was not real 18K gold or Tahitian pearls. When I requested a refund, Pearls Lover’s customer service representative, Teresa, insisted that I keep the item and offered a 40% discount instead of returning it, claiming that “the returning package is going back to Shanghai, China, so it would cost you a lot in shipping and duties.”This is, of course, unacceptable, as I had no intention of spending that kind of money on a counterfeit. As a result, I filed a dispute via PayPal to get (part of) my money back.Shoppers, don’t be fooled—Pearls Lover’s return policy is essentially nonexistent, despite their “60 Days Money Back Guarantee.” Do your homework and buy from a reputable jeweler so you don’t end up like I did.
