The Otiom tag is a very high tec locating device, simple to use but with very sophisticated capabilities for keeping tabs on dementia sufferers. Like most such devices, it relies on network connectivity – in this case the Internet of Things (IOT). IOT coverage in this area is not dissimilar to mobile coverage and the dementia sufferer lives in an area of very poor mobile coverage. I cannot speak too highly of the efforts that Otiom have gone to liaising directly with me in order to maximise the tag’s effectiveness in these challenging conditions. This has enabled us to keep our relation in her own flat and out of a care home even though she is prone to wandering – it has saved our bacon on numerous occasions and even allows us to keep tabs on her within the development where her flat is located. If you want a top-of-the-range tracking system that delivers peace of mind, I cannot recommend Otiom too highly.
