Like everyone here, I have been left with a bad taste in my mouth about Photobucket.I don’t even remember what I used Photobucket for, nor do I really care to find out. On an email I seldomly use I saw constant emails from Photobucket. Because my account had been inactive for so long I had to re-enable it, so I figured I’d get in touch with support to delete my account in accordance with GDPR. What a waste of time that was, as they wanted me to provide proof of address and ID, the former of which wouldn’t have been on file since the account is at least 15 years old. By refusing I was told to reactivate my account and delete it once logged in, but the page you are greeted with has two massive subscriptions to gain access to your account (which I never paid for in the past). Turns out there is a very small “delete account” option at the bottom hidden away hoping to never be seen, and once that’s clicked you need to confirm you want to delete your account about 5 times.Complete and utter scummy business tactics, praying on general public and using unethical privacy policies and UI design to scam you for money.
