Before even booking anything the PMGY team were super helpful with managing expectations and explaining the whole experience. I booked two programmes, street dogs in sri lanka and Elephants in Thailand, and the team connected me with cassy who offered to sort out my flights and answered any questions I had. The accommodation at both programmes was clean and had everything you needed either on site or within walking distance. The staff are extremely helpful with once at the programme and are always there to answer any queries you may have. There is a vast difference in comitment levels between my two programmes, however they were equally as enjoyable once you were used to the heat. The dog programme was more relaxed, consisting of 3 hours of volunteering in the morning and free time in the afternoons. The elephant programme involved volunteering from 6.30am until 5pm with breaks in between however the work wasn't always demanding and the time flew by. To anyone considering volunteering I would say just book it! It's an amazing experience and even if you don't enjoy the volunteering aspect, you'll make friends for life.
