Good job but I found the pricing policy dishonest. I was charged 200 (+VAT) labour for the changing of 2 valves. The break-down of the charges was as follows: 45 minutes was the actual work. Another 45 minutes was for getting the valves, although I had sent pictures with the problem and the parts that would need fixing the day before, and the plumber could have brought the parts with him. In any case, this would have made 1,5hours labour. According to my watch, the plumber first came in my house at 12.15p.m., and was out at 1.42p.m. However, Plumbwise claimed that he arrived at 12.05, and they asked for an extra 50(+VAT) for the supposed 7 minutes beyond the 1.5hours. I explained that at 12.06p.m., at a time when their plumber according to them was in my house, I was on the phone with them complaining because the plumber was not here yet, although he was supposed to had come before 10a.m. I also explained that his arrival time could easily be proved beyond dispute by the metadata of the pictures he took with his mobile when he arrived. Despite repeatedly asking for them however, Plumbwise refused to send this hard evidence, just insisting he arrived 10 minutes earlier than he actually did, which reinforces my feeling that their attitude is calculatedly dishonest, and not just a mistake. In any case I find the 200(+VAT) labour for the changing of two valves an unacceptably high price, and I wouldn’t trust Plumbwise again.
