If I could give zero stars. It is a total scam site. Loaded with fake profiles to get money from advertiser's. Just do a search for men, and 30 percent come back as females listed as men. Stay away!!! FAKE!!!
This Canadian owned Dating Company is a joke. I have only been subscribed for 24 hours and they are threatening to BAN ME because I added a photo of a harmless joke to show my sense of humour. This company is WOKE personified. Below is my email to the CEO of POF:
Mr Frind
See my email below. You want to learn to liven up as a company. If I had known about your fascist controlling “woke” culture I would have NEVER gone near Plenty of Fish.
Kindly confirm my requested refund of £59.99 today to avoid further action and reporting your company to the UK TRADING STANDARDS

Hello
You threatened to ban me today and removed a photo (attached) which shows my sense of humour. I only subscribed yesterday.
I am not happy about this and want my subscription REFUNDED today please. £59.99!
Under the Consumer Act 2015 (UK) you have to refund me!
Please confirm receipt of my email and proof of refunding the money into my bank account today.
Failure to do this will mean I contact my bank and instruct them to investigate you and force a CHARGEBACK!

I had signed up for plenty of fish for about 24 hours and then they banned me for no reason at all probably that I wasn’t going to pay the premium and only use the free service and I know that that on my profile and then I noticed the next morning I couldn’t login anymore after I spent like three hours on my profile with pictures and all of their questions I spent a lot of time all lost all I can say is there’s plenty of fish app is a bunch of bull crap and one star is way too many
This is a complete rip-off; I received only one 'like' in three months of a premium subscription from a potential match. Once my subscription ended, I suddenly received about ten likes a day, but I couldn't view them unless I paid again. It felt like my visibility surged dramatically once my subscription lapsed. Definitely a scam.
This platform is not legitimate. I sent several messages but received no replies, except for a sales representative who only contacts you to encourage resubscription before your funds run out, benefiting them. When I asked for verification of their questionable profile, the representative stopped responding. Don't waste your time or money here.
I signed up over a year ago and quickly realized it was a scam site, leaving before it caused much harm. Today, I received an unexpected email saying "Someone wants to meet you!" so I thought I'd check it out. I clicked the link, and a face appeared briefly before being replaced by a pricing screen. There were no free options to at least view her profile. Is she interested in me? Is she close by? Do we have anything in common? Could she be a man? It's clearly a shameless and bold scam tactic. What kind of business model is this? There wasn't even a basic introductory level or short-term plan. The lowest tier is three months, allowing for messaging back. For $60, I could find out she lives far away, has an open relationship with her "fiancé," and her photos are likely outdated. Who knows? I definitely don't want to find out. I discarded this one immediately.
After 8 days, I decided to cancel a 30-day subscription priced at $29.95, having previously attempted the 20-email option for $24.99 without success. I received 118 views and engaged in 4 brief conversations. One account vanished, while two others only wanted to communicate via a messaging app. The fourth profile seemed promising, claiming to seek good conversation and having made friends on the first day. However, it was the same profile from a decade ago that led to nowhere. I had a good chat back then, but this time, I wasn't interested in continuing. I verified my account, which didn't help much, and showcased 16 pictures, later reducing them to 8 to demonstrate my financial stability, alongside a detailed bio. Most of the women's profiles were sparse, featuring outdated pictures. One profile that attempted to steer me towards a messaging app was told she could easily post a full-body picture, but she just responded with a goodbye. Why did I give it another shot after a decade? A friend of mine found lasting love through a similar platform, so I thought maybe miracles can happen, albeit perhaps once in a thousand years.
After paying for the subscription, you quickly realize you are in a trap—monthly charges keep coming. I regret not exploring other more reputable sites before signing up. It would have saved me significant time and money. My advice is simple: steer clear of this service. Honestly, it's not worth anything! The support team is incredibly unhelpful, intentionally making the cancellation process frustrating.
Two decades ago, this platform seemed to function well and was free to use. However, it transitioned to a paid model and the quality drastically declined. It’s outrageously priced, filled with fake and outdated profiles, and overall a complete waste of time.
