PUBLIC STATEMENT | TRANS & XENOPHOBIC ABUSE IGNORED BY DANISH POLICE(To tag: @politidk @kobenhavnspoliti @police_dk)At exactly 5:35 AM, I called 112, the Danish emergency number, reporting a transphobic assault happening in real time — a trans woman being physically attacked by a security guard. And the police response? Utter negligence. They told me, over and over again, that they “couldn’t do anything” and that I should just “go home.” Instead of stopping a hate crime in progress, they were more interested in knowing whether I had a CPR (residency number) — as if my immigration status mattered more than someone’s safety.Let me remind you of the law:📌 Section 266b of the Danish Penal Code criminalizes hate speech and violence based on gender identity or sexual orientation.📌 The European Convention on Human Rights (ratified by Denmark) ensures protection from violence and discrimination, regardless of nationality.📌 The Danish Police Act (§1, §2, §3) requires police to protect anyone from imminent danger — especially during ongoing physical assault.None of this was respected. The message was clear: Trans people are not seen as people. Immigrants, even less so.I am shocked. In 2025, in a country like Denmark, I never thought I’d experience such cruel indifference from the very people who are supposed to protect us.I sincerely hope I never need @politidk for anything ever again.TRANS LIVES MATTER. XENOPHOBIA KILLS. POLICE SILENCE IS VIOLENCE.#PolitiDK #DenmarkFail #TransRightsAreHumanRights #StopHateCrimes #TransSafetyNow
