In today's world, with scams happening everywhere, I don't understand how this company does not improve their process for purchasing a boat. Our experience: We contacted a seller to see a boat, we were immediately asked to pay a deposit to lock in the boat, before we even saw the boat. This is red flag to me, I never heard of Pop boats and they want me to submit a payment of $1000. You may know you're a legit company, but I did not. We went to go see the boat, we liked the boat and now started feeling more comfortable with the situation. We called the salesman when we got home and got a contract 7:45 the next morning. We went about our day and around lunch is when all the trouble started. The salesman calls my wife and aggressively asks to sign the contract and make the deposit. No no, we don't do that, that raises more red flags. But we are told that there was another buyer and we had to race to submit our contract. We did what we needed and submitted our contract, it was accepted, AND signed by the owner of the boat. My wife gets another call after 5 saying, it looks like the other buyer beat us, but we're checking. Then why did our contract even go through? Your system can't do checks and reject the contract? Red flag number 3. Repeatedly called and messaged the salesman, who said he'd get back to us and didn't, I had to call him the next day. We did not get the boat, we will not be using Pop boats ever again.
